How does the commission process work?

If you are not sure exactly what you are looking for I am happy to make suggestions based on the image/s provided. To ensure that you will be happy with the end result I can provide a digital mock-up, allowing you to preview the composition and background before I begin.

What makes the best photo for you to work from?

An ideal reference photo would be high-resolution and taken at eye-level with the subject.
I understand it is not always possible to provide the perfect photo, so I can combine aspects of several images to create the ideal likeness. Similarly, if you require multiple pets within the portrait, these can be combined from separate images.

How long will the portrait take?

The pieces take different times depending on the size and complexity of the piece. However most pieces are finished within six weeks or sooner. However if you do have a particular deadline in mind please do get in touch and I will confirm if I can complete the portrait in time. The Christmas period is always very busy so please bear that in mind and book as early as possible to secure your place.

Can you provide the portrait with a frame?

Yes, I am happy to frame the artwork for you so that it is ready to hang. Framing is charged at cost with a wide range of styles available. For framed Charcoal works and pastel works to reduce the risk of damage I frame using acrylic plexiglass rather than actual glass. This is safer for shipping the artworks especially if they are traveling abroad.
